An original Rock & Roll band from the SW side of Chicago, formed in 2024:

Our influences are from a myriad of styles, to include classic rock, hard rock, heavy metal, pop, and blues.

Hailing from Chicago, Greystone was formed in 2024 by three members of the Hernandez family. The band’s drummer, Mark, exposed his daughter Alana (vocals) and son Mark (guitar) to his musical talents as well as a wide range of music during their upbringing. Starting off as a collection of intermittent jam sessions, each of the members quickly realized they shared a passion for songwriting and a desire to bring their ideas to life. This realization brought about the creation of Greystone, a band whose music is built on the foundation of Rock n’ Roll. It wasn't long before the band crossed paths with Arlo Wohljenant, a professional freelance bass player, heavily influenced by and educated in Jazz. Recognizing the raw artistry of their songs, he accepted their invitation to join the band. And, soon thereafter, another invitation to join the band was given to modern visual artist and musician Jesh Tutson. Jesh came on board with years of playing music as a hobby, and also with previous years of band experience in playing guitar and keyboards.

Although Rock n' Roll music is where their sound is most heavily centered, Greystone’s music oscillates throughout various genres and is a female fronted band. Their multi-decade, multi-genre influences–such as Led Zeppelin, Steely Dan, Metallica, The Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, Stone Temple Pilots, My Chemical Romance, Paramore, and Amy Winehouse, to name a select few–allow each member to experiment with the notion of what rock music can be in the creation of their songs.

The band has released their debut album, "A Million Grains of Sand" on October 24, 2025.
